Susan + Anton . Wellesley College Wedding

It rained the entire week before in Boston.  Susan looked at the forecast from her home in Los Angeles and crossed her fingers that things would clear up for their big day…and sure enough it did.  Birds were chirping, and the sun decided to peek through the clouds just in time for Susan and Anton’s wedding.  It was lovely!

When I arrived at the hotel where Susan and Anton were getting ready, I could feel the excitement in the air.  A few little nervous gestures, but mostly smiles in anticipation.  This is one of my favorite parts of the job.  It’s quite an honor to be invited into this private place where family and friends are getting ready for such an important event.

Susan has the most amazing eyes.  The blue is so saturated, you could see it through her veil.

While I spent some time with Susan, my awesome assistant Masao of Amara Photo went to Anton’s hotel room and got these images.  Thanks Masao!

The chapel at Wellesley College is full of history and charm.  I love all of the wood details and the stained glass.

This next image is one of my favorite shots of the day.  There is so much to be told in this one glimpse. The way Anton is looking at his bride.  Susan’s concentration during communion.  Susan’s mother looking at a passerby’s dress.  The light streaming in through the top of the chapel.  Just lovely.

After the mass, we took some time to walk through the beautiful campus for some images of the new Mr. and Mrs.  The campus is so beautiful!

Susan and Anton chose to have an indoor/outdoor daylight reception with lawn games and cocktails to replace the traditional dancing.

I love it when the bride and groom take the time to welcome their guests personally.  Quite a few of them flew in from very far away, which says a little bit about how special this couple is.

An impromptu toast by Anton’s brother was sentimental and at times silly.
After dinner, the fun began outside!  Bubbles, parasols, and lawn games made the afternoon a huge success!

Susan and Anton, I had a wonderful time getting to know you during your stay in Boston.  I wish you all the best in your love and life together!
