Bliss and Bespoke Workshop . Charleston SC

I’m having a hard time putting into words what this time meant to me. It was four short days, but that’s all it took to give me the inspiration I needed. For those of you who have no clue what I’m talking about, Bliss and Bespoke is a workshop for female entrepreneurs in the wedding business and is designed to propel them to a new level of excellence in business strategy and to find a voice for their vision. I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I arrived at The Cottages on Charleston Harbor. I’d never been to a retreat or workshop except for the ones I’ve helped teach. It was also smack dab in the middle of wedding season and I was a little nervous that it would leave me with nothing but a few days behind schedule on edits.  Instead, I left with a new sense of excitement and a fearless attitude about the future of Rachel Red Photography.

Throughout the workshop, I learned from Lynn and Augusta from Easton Events, the sweet Emily and Lisa of Southern Weddings, the founder of Carats and Cake, Jacin of Jacin Fitzgerald Events and Abby Capalbo of Style Me Pretty and Abby Capalbo Styling, the honest and true Anna of Anna Lucia Events, and the editor in chief of Charleston Weddings Magazine.  Gosh, I’m probably forgetting a few amazing people.  It was quite the line up!  We also spent some time at some new venues in Charleston including the Gadsden House, Cannon Green, and The Cedar Room – all distinctly fabulous.

The third day, I did a breakout session with Corbin Gurkin where we photographed a beautiful model together and went over business strategies, insight on major publications, and film photography advice.  Those three hours were worth the entire workshop’s price, in my opinion.  She was an open book and I’m so thankful for her candor.  The images below are from our time together.

I also met a ton of amazing people who also attended the workshop!  A big thanks goes to Betsy and Katie for putting this incredible time together and making us parade around Sullivan’s Island in flower crowns. 🙂  You ladies have huge hearts!
