I met Lainey and James in my favorite city, Charleston South Carolina.  They are getting married out of state but wanted engagement pictures where they live.  It rained all morning and we were all nervous that the weather was not going to cooperate, but the sun came out just in time!  I took this gorgeous couple around my favorite area of this romantic, soulful city and am so pleased with how their images turned out.  They call this area “rainbow row” for the colorful historic homes.  This was the very first place I photographed in the south when I first moved to North Carolina seven years ago, so it holds a special place in my heart.  I was overtaken by the idea of casual luxury – a laid back but sophisticated way of life.  It is my dream destination and I truly hope that Lainey and James remember it in a similar way, wherever their paths lead them.
